St James’s Place raises £30,000 for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation

St James’s Place raises £30,000 for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation

The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation has revealed it’s received funding of £30,000 from St. James’s Place (SJP) Charitable Foundation.

Ian Knox of St James’s Place met chief executive Paula Chadwick earlier this year when she was seeking funding for additional resources at Roy Castle as he explained:

“I applied to the SJP Foundation’s national office. They were delighted to help this brilliant cause and we managed to secure the funding back in the summer. Obviously with Covid, we haven’t been able to meet up until now, so we ended up doing the presentation recently.

Ian continued: “The SJP Foundation is a brilliant organisation and one in which all partners, advisers and staff contribute to on a monthly basis. It’s then match-funded by SJP themselves.”

Paula said: “We were delighted to receive the funds especially given the impact it has had on our patients during this very difficult time for them plus the fact that they’ve had to shield.

“The funding has helped the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation to create more hours on our nurses helpline too. They have been a vital lifeline for our patients.

“We’ve seen calls more than double during this pandemic with our nurses being asked questions on shielding, treatment, tests and scans as well as just being there for our patients to talk to when they are feeling very isolated and alone, so thank you again.”
