Just before Soul Inspired Events host the Soul Acoustic Tour in Liverpool, we caught up with Aleighcia Scott and what a lovely lady!
You have opened for renowned artists such as Maxi Priest and Professor Green, how did it feel to perform alongside them?
They have been amazing experiences! I get quite nervous because their fans have paid money to see them so you have to make sure you give a good show but I love it!
Who would you say are your own music idols?
My biggest inspirations musically would have to be Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu and Whitney Houston
You have achieved acclaim at a young age, do you have any advice for aspiring music artists?
I would just say to be yourself and never compromise what you believe and most importantly… work hard and love what you do!
Your style is influenced by genres including soul and reggae, how important do you think it is for artists to listen to a wide range of music?
I think it’s really important to listen to a wide range of music because you may come across a style you’ve never heard before, or even a different riff or note that could then help you to make something completely different to anything anyone may have heard before. There are so many different influences of genres within all genres now, that’s really great to see
What does it mean to you to be a part of the Soul Acoustic Tour?
This is huge for me – I have worked really hard and feel so honoured and thankful for that and to have been recognised by the Punch crew!
