Zaaffran on Allerton Road celebrates its first birthday with a celeb-fuelled party for business and showbiz guests next Wednesday February 27th having already won over leafy suburbia and urban media commentators.
And now, having become a favourite haunt for many famous Liverpool faces, Zaaffran is striking out with an extensive tapas bar menu.
Most fans to date have been attracted by Zaaffran’s move away from the traditional curry house model to a contemporary version that includes curried cheese.
Karahi Paneer, popular amongst vegetarians in India is made by the chef on the premises and is served in a tasty tomato gravy with onions and peppers.
Chicken Tikka has been heralded as a Zaaffran signature dish by diners and this South Liverpool haunt is also famed for its Naan bread that’s stretched to guarantee a crisp non-doughy texture and taste.
Other celeb favourites to date include Machali Amritsari – cod pieces in a spicy batter and Lamb Chettinad, a thick and spicy stew containing fresh curry leaves.
